Van Lee Labrador Retriever Breeders

We began breeding Labradors in 1963. Our main goal was to IMPROVE on the breed and develop a line which would produce a family companion with tremendous hunting ability that is nurtured through a "willingness to please" attitude.

Through the years we have been very selective, breeding our females with the purpose of raising and training one of the pups ourselves, placing a great importance on disposition and temperament.

You will notice on a pedigree of ours that the "Van Lee" prefix extends through 6 and 7 generations. We DO NOT and WILL NOT purchase females strictly for breeding! Every female that we breed has been raised and trained by us and is a WORKING retriever and FAMILY companion. We are happy to furnish references countrywide.

OUR GUARANTEE

A pedigree of ours will have three and sometimes four generations of solid OFA certifications. We will not breed any of our dogs unless they are OFA certified. Eyes are also checked and we obtain CERF prior to breeding. Our pups are sold with a written guarantee, copy sent on request.

RESERVATION

Since we limit our litters to two to three per year, many of our pups are reserved prior to breeding and whelping. We require a $200.00 deposit to hold your reservation on a "first come" basis. The price of the pup is determined at the time of breeding, from $900.00 and up; depending on the title of the parents, the pedigree and the "proven" previous litters. A deposit refund is given only if we cannot produce the color/sex that you requested.

Prior to leaving at 7 weeks of age, our pups are checked thoroughly and inoculated by our veterinarian, have their dewclaws removed and have been wormed. They are well socialized and used to playing with children.
